About Us
The Oriental Culture Association (OCA) is a
federally registered (501)(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission
to bridge the culture gap between East and West; to introduce
traditional oriental culture, including art, philosophy, holistic
healing and mind-body practice, etc., to satisfy a growing public
interest in these areas; to promote and educate the Asian communities to
learn American culture and value, including but not limited to freedom
of belief, appreciation for diversity and tolerance.
What we offer:
Public Access Cable TV
OCA provides cultural and educational TV programs in both English and
Chinese through public cable channels. The TV Programs covers Daily
News, Economy Review, Holistic Health Approach, History, Chinese
Medicine, Daily Living, etc.
English and Chinese TV program production
With the support from a group of highly motivated volunteers at OCA, we
have been producing TV programs including news, special event analysis,
talk shows, entertainment, cultural and educational programs for
children and adult audience.
Community Interaction
OCA has been working hard to contribute to build a healthier and safer
community in Michigan, and help Chinese American to get more involved in
community activities, and promote Chinese culture and heritage.
Chinese Culture Shows
OCA has worked diligently in past two years and present the
world-renowned Shen Yun shows in Metro Detroit. It enriched the lives of
people in Michigan.
Chinese Newspaper
One of the major functions of OCA is to provide Chinese-Americans with
high-quality Chinese newspapers to help them better understand, enjoy,
and integrate into life in America.
Exhibitions
OCA has organized/participated major exhibits around the SE Michigan.
